Hey there, trying to find some help with this. 1989 f350 with a c6. I got in the truck today and I couldn’t shift passed park. I broke the ignition actuator rod a week or so ago and in the mean time been starting with pliers on the rod. I’ve been able to drive around fine until today. I’m wondering if the broken rod could have blocked up the shifter selector? Anyway to free it up? I have plans to work with a shop next week to get the actuator fixed but now I’m worried I won’t be able to drive it to the shop with it stuck in park. Would I be able to shift the transfer case into neutral to tow it there? Any advice helps, limited tools at my spot and that’s why I was bringing it to a buddys shop next week as they have a steering wheel puller and all that. Maybe a screwdriver or pin up in there to help wiggle it free? Thanks in advance

That depends on exactly where actuator broke. It definitely can. Since you know it is broken that is definitely where i would start.

If I do end up needing to tow it I can just shift the transfer case to neutral and it won’t matter if it’s stuck in park correct? It should roll fine and not break anything?

Yes if you get it in neutral it’s in neutral and should roll free, if you can’t do that simply remove the driveshaft.

As long as the t-case doesn't get jarred into gear some how you should be good. It isn't all that hard to replace the actuator, I would probably do it where it is at. The O'Reilly around my area keep the Dorman in stock. Not 100% about the brick nose using the same part as the bull nose but I think they are.
