It seems that DEI brand exhaust wrap has fans here. But it costs about 3x more than all the other brands, which also have favorable reviews. Here in the pic, for example, I have 3 rolls of 50' each, a total of 150' of wrap, for less than the price of one 50' roll of DEI.

Does anybody know why folks pay 3x more money for DEI? Maybe it's mostly motorcycle guys, but I see hits in here too where some of you mention DEI wrap on your IDIs. Riffraff only sells DEI brand. Those guys seem to really know what they're doing.

All have similar instructions, similar caveats about not disturbing the wrap on the pipe once it's heat hardened, similar claimed operating temps, and warnings to use gloves etc, to save the whales and the planet.

I used generic autozone stuff, I think it was $8, and works just fine. Why be fancy about something you won't ever see?

I did a similar job with cheap Amazon type stuff. Lasted a good while before falling apart from oil and driving through snow banks and stuff. :Thumbs Up

Because the stuff works, keeps heat in the pipe, lays on incredibly easy, can be taken off years later and reinstalled
And lasts.
It was recommended to me and I see why.
Is there a cheaper Amazon product that probably works similar, yes.
Do I absolutely love this stuff, yes

That's kinda where I fall is I think it is.
My dei wrap is going on 7 years and besides a slight change in color from heat (which happens after the first drive it looks the same as the stuff I have in the box
Took the stuff off the downpipe 2 years ago and rewrapped the downpipe with the same stuff. I love it
