So I’ve been driving the truck around just a bit..my abs light and parking brake light is on. Everything seems hooked up and functional. Parking brake isn’t set..

But the other thing I’ve noticed is while I have there is a burning electrical smell coming from the hvac system. Could my fan just be pulling to much power because it might be seized up a little? It runs fine and makes no noise.

Do you smell it when the blend door is open but blower motor isn’t running and your driving or only when the blower motor is on

More than likely your heater motor resistors are burning off dirt and leaves. They have been known to catch fire. They get red hot when they are working, that is why they are in the airflow of the fan. You might want to pull the resistor make sure there is nothing in there that can catch fire. But if it's ok, the smell will go away.

It may not help much, but this is the one on my 1985. It's underneath and to the driver's side of the blower fan in the engine compartment. It's the best picture that I could get at night. There's a plug and a red "plate" That's how they look on Bull Nose trucks.

Thanks for the photo but I can’t make out what is what..I’ll try to look for a schematic..

Brake line/cruise control..never heard of that issue..I’ll check into that too I suppose I really don’t want to melt a bunch of stuff
