I surprised my son with new “NES” style controllers for the Atari 7800.

So we spent the last 3 hours hanging out in Wally. (Atari is outside in my van)

We had to drop the wife's car off yesterday for recall work. They close at 5 and she doesn't get home until 4:30. They're 45min away. Rather than driving out to sign for it and then come get the wife and go back for the car.....

Decided to just tow it home. I'm quite happy with how the old 250 handled it.

I'm slightly sad nobody came out to try and sell me a truck. It wouldn't have mattered, but still LOL

Today I took a road trip up to a few towns in Nebraska. I just HAD to choose a day when we're actually getting snow. :dunno There was about 1-1 1/2" when I left this morning. There was A LOT more than that when I got back home. It's hard to tell how much was on the ground because it was a wet snow and the ground is warm again so it melted and settled. This may not seem like much to you all up north of me, but considering that we've been in a bad drought for the last1 1/2 years, and the fact that we were supposed to get 1-3", it was very surprising. Here's a before I left and after I got home picture. It was funny. The snow just about quit at the state line. The picture with the road sign is about 1 mile south of the state line into Kansas. There's a picture in a gas station parking lot in Nebraska. This was a very small parking lot and these snow piles were higher than my truck. They got hit by the last two storms that just missed us. The final picture is why I had to get out and lock in the hubs to drive the county road that comes in north of town where I live. It was a little snowy and slick on those roads.

That's my kind of snowy road right there! Hope you had fun. Clearly the plow truck driver had too much fun. Keep it on the road, people! I mean, unless you have 4x4 and good tires. :fight:

Not good when the Plow Truck ends up on its side...
No it's not. I was going along just fine until I turned around to take that picture. It was very slick underneath the snow and the corner is so banked that I almost got pulled into the ditch. Somehow, reverse pulled me straight back so I got away from the ditch. I was about ready to turn the front tires into the ditch, put it in 2nd, drop the clutch, and put the hammer down to go around the plow truck.
It was 28* when I left town at 10:30 and 29* when I got back right before 6:00 so the snow was heavy and wet. We've gad at least two weeks of high temps in the 40's and 50's since the big freeze before Christmas with no snow cover on the ground. I think that the ground warmed back up enough to melt some of the snow as it fell. Driving around town, some places looked like there was about 4" of snow while others looked like there was 10-12". I think those places still had some snow that hadn't melted from the last snow we got on Wednesday so the new didn't melt there.

I do and yes, it was actually kind of fun. I would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't been close to dark and I actually could have seen the deeper snow. It was dark enough that everything looked white, but light enough that the headlights didn't help at all.
