ZD-29 glow plugs?

Apparently ZD-9 glow plugs are being superseded with part # ZD-29. Has anybody bought the new ones? Do you notice any physical difference between them? ZD-9 plugs are still available, so I’m debating whether I should buy a set, or trust that the new ones will be just as good (or better?). What do you guys think?

There was a thread not too far back where this ZD-29 plug came up.
Some one on OB or FTE mentioned Ford sells the ZD-9 plug, now 2 in a bag, and changed the part# to ZD-29.

I`ll be danged if I can find the post now.

When I bought my dually I was told by my friend in Texas that it needed new glow plugs. I told him to buy the Motorcraft ones and let me know what I owed him. I flew down, drove it back, and a couple months later I noticed they were autolite plugs. There were a couple that I thought were going...

Just be sure they are really motor craft plugs. There are a lot of counterfeit parts out there that are no better than autolites .
There's a lot of discussion on that.

I am essentially quoting myself here, but the same thing was done with the 7.3 powersmoke ZD-11 is now ZD-30 and I am not sure why I didn’t ask the dealer about that but it seems to be what Ford is doing at the moment.

I use several sets of 7.3PS plugs a month, all the bags that I am getting say zd-11-b2 2x. two plugs per bag.

I saves Ford money by not having to buy so many bags. :dunno

Probably. Plus how many of us only have to replace one glow plug at at time, unless we're lucky?
