Tnx. That's good to know since I do have AC...If you still have A/C you might consider using 2.5in pipes instead of 3". I don't have working A/C and 3" was still a pain. (Have the compressor still mounted but no belt or hoses).

Any updates on this?I may regret the gears but i think I'll like the lookYou must be registered for see images attach
You know (I know I’m super late) but if you calculate it all out your ratios are super close because of your tire size lol. When I had 4.10 gears and 37s I had no issue towing 14-17k. I also live in Texas...... I now have 33s and an 01 SD rear end with 373 gear and I notice no differance in towing or rpms. Not exactly apples to apples as far as your question is concerned, but fairly closish
Hated 3.55’s with 35’s, 33’s we’re way better. I haven’t driven with the super duty axles (3.73’s) but I’m excited to see the differenceFor any of you guys considering
I swapped from 4.10s to 3.55s and absolutely love it.
For those curious about what the rpms/speeds are and what speeds in the various trans gears look like. Search grimm-jeeper .com/gears
Can input and compare trans tcase, tire size and gear ratios
3.73s with 35s will be about the same effective final drive as 3.55s and 33s
But you will have more rubber hitting the ground, and more drag because of it.
If planning 35s I would suggest either 3.73 or 4.10s
You can do it with 3.55s but truck has to work harder.
I just did this in the last couple months, and have not towed heavy with it, but it is so much nicer to drive. Makes much better use of the engines torque. Pretty dramatic mpg improvement as well. This is with stock height tires. For any of you guys considering

That was always my point. Lol. Found final ratio I was super happy with towing as well as good mpg and kinda stayed close. Kinda expensive to do micro adjustments so I just have to wait till my tires wear out. Still love the 3.73 gearing and improved breaking. Alot of people swear that the drum rears provide better breaking. I have 7 rigs here all different backgrounds and all been serviced by myself along the way at some point, and none have done as well on breaking as the sd rear end before I messed with them or after. To each their own I suppose. You know (I know I’m super late) but if you calculate it all out your ratios are super close because of your tire size lol.
Maybe the drums do provide better braking. But discs are so much nicer to work on. Plus they clear water and everything way nicerThat

Are you talking about the kit add on Disk Brakes, or the Factory set up?The parking brake definitely isn't as good with disc. Slide-off drums make the brakes quick and easy to service anyway.... Not like the old style.
