Hi, my belt tensioner is hitting my fan blade. If tightened it down, but it won’t go any tighter and is still hitting it. It randomly started doing it. Any idea?

Check your water pump shaft that the fan mounts to. May be worn, the fan and clutch are pretty heavy. Try to move it up and down or side to side.

Fans solid. The tensioner is tight until it’s starting or running. I tell move back and forth until you get up to maybe 1,000rpm

Sounds like your tensioner is worn out if it is wobbling. Pull it off and see if there’s a bushing that can be replaced. May just be the bearing has bit the dust. I saw your other thread about a grinding sound.

Yeah, I had finally noticed it. It was hard to notice tbh and the sound travels like crazy through those engines. I can’t wait to sell this truck. It’s been a ****

Yeah, I don't know how to do a video. I'd have to see it or mess with it but there's a bearing or a bushing that allows for warble somewhere.

There’s stuff like this. You can tell it’s hitting or clanking on something. It doesn’t appear to be hitting the fan now, but it’s still making that noise in that general area

The tensioner is bouncing up and down like crazy. I checked all our other cars and they don’t do that. How would I fix that?
