When I finally got my 1972 F-250 4X4 I dropped the tail gate and threw my Cross Bed Truck Box into the bed. I scratched the bed all up and dented the front of the bed. I said "nothing to worry about now...".

I actually like rust, its not uncommon that if you're riding with me to hear me exclaim, "oh man, that trucks got all the right rust in all the right places!" I like my vehicles to be mechanically sound, but phisically functional. I might not have the pretty truck for hot shot trucking, but I'd have the functional truck for hot shot trucking. So to go back to how this all started, I probably won't be hot shoting I was just curious if anyone did of does.

I guess you're still not the good guy for the hot shot businesses

The mix, your mix, of rust and still a well maintained truck, how often you find that?
I guess the risk you win a lottery is bigger!?

I pull a 23 ' gooseneck livestock trailer for hire. I'll pull anything as long as its legal: furniture, feed, junk iron, livestock, with in a 150 mile radius. if you want it RIGHT NOW , it will cost extra, especially at night. and no I dont haul oilfield equipment. its too nasty and the roads tear up the suspension.

That's sweet.
I'd like to do something like that some day.
If insurance wasn't such an issue, I'd really put my tow truck to work. I've got some very limited plans for it, but nothing like I'd want to.

The customers pay for it, like everything else. Have you paid to have a car towed lately?

The RV transportation people usually have the same rules, no old trucks doing their hauling.
Ya they want you to have all the tree hugger crap on your truck as to not ruin thier image. Knew a guy who cummins swapped one of those 08-10 f450 pickups but when they coundout it had and older motor they got very upset and fired him

Here's another thread that like @IDIBRONCO s, thread "who's smarter" I got to thinking needed to be revived. I haven't seen any IDIs "hot shoting" but I've certainly seen some OBS powerstrokes attached to lawn maintenance trailers. So, how bout it? Any of you newer guys hot shotin' with your IDI?
