It's the only thing that has wires going to the block on that side on the top. Kind of between the IP housing, thermostat housing, and near injector #1.

So, yesterday after installing yet another return line kit (O rings and hose etc) I'm too old to be ******* that engine > > > >I discovered the "high idle solenoid" yup, now I remember many-many-many years ago turning it up a bit.
It reminds me and looks like the AC solenoid on my 81 Corvette that raises the idle when the AC is turned on.
Anyhow, I removed the connector from the top, rotated the shaft 1/4 turn, sprayed some WD40 on the shaft and it]s 'lazy' meaning it kicks in late.
Sooooooo, if I put 12v test wire to the solenoid is should pop-out... correct?
And if it does, then the temp sender is bad. If it doesn't the solenoid is bad.

12v and if should pop out. Typically it's not strong enough to move the throttle on its own, hence why you gotta do half throttle when cranking.
As for the sensor, if the throttle advance is working, even if it's slow, sensor is working.

Yup since new and probably thousands of cold starts I know the solenoid isn't designed to raise the idle unless the pedal is depressed enough when starting.
It's just 'odd' that it's kicking-in 'late'.
I have to hold the throttle open for maybe 30-45 seconds before it engages and by that time (depending on coolant temperature) it will disengage when it normally would.
Soooooo, maybe it is the actual solenoid failing. Not sure 'if' that 'part' is available???

Ha... and now it's working as it should.
Guess some WD40 helped!
Thanks for the suggestions.
