I’ve strayed so far from the 6.9 project. Not really. But this thread is proof adhd exists. Loving my little ranger. Got the a/c going and cleaned it up. Passed smog with flying colors, it doesn’t burn a lick of oil. Needs a tune up it idles a little rough, but other than that its great. Going camping this weekend so fingers crossed it makes it with no issues, kinda weird having a new vehicle that I haven’t done any work to. Maybe that’s a good thing?

Here are some pictures from our weekend. It is 114 outside so I really wish I was still up there LOL. Little green bean did great. Then I started it this morning and it was a 4 cylinder, so I guess it really wants that tune up.

You stop when you have a full coat of fresh paint on it!

I never even entertained the idea of baby blue on my truck but after seeing it I’m sorta considering it. It’s definitely a color you don’t see often
If I ever paint my dually it'll probably be baby blue with dark blue and the bottom and a series of stripes by the body lines. My dad had a '81 regular cab, short bed with a 3.8 V6 that I helped him work on a lot when I was a kid. I've had a vision of the paint scheme on my crew cab dually. Baby blue is legit! But what about Navy blue....... BIGFOOT style!!!!

I found this, it's masculine.

My Grandfather's 83 F150 was that color. It's technically the reason I have one of these trucks in the first place. I kinda want to find another one just like his was.

That's my plan too.

I won't get too sentimental, but the only thing my dad and I had in common was Ford trucks and our last name. He was a regular cab short bed guy, he'd have all sorts of colorful remarks to make about my Crew cab dually with a diesel engine. He died a year or two before I got it. He said my 95 extended cab "looked like I slammed on the brakes and my cab went a little farther before it finally stopped". He didn't like diesels either.

My stepdad, Kenny, who I really wish I shared my last name with, is so funny about my truck. He’s such a dad about it. He’d always be on my ass in highschool because it’d leak oil all over the driveway. But every time anything happened to it he’d show up with the tow strap and complain the whole way home. My mom and him got married when I was like 2, and they both grew up driving older stuff. So they love it, That’s my dad lol.

Well she’s gone. She treated us well. Got 500$ out of it so I’m pleased. Now some person is going to dismantle it and see how the radiator support is Stick welded together, the layer of jb weld on both engine and transmission pans, and then the rear crash bar that is solid mounted to the sub frame lol.
