Question everything, and demand to see it. You're (or her I should say) are entitled to know what's going on with their vehicle. Hate to say it but I used to work in the auto collision repair industry, and women get taken advantage of because shops think they don't know better.
That’s exactly it.

It's crazy but true. I won't rattle on, but ive never had a good experience with anyone working on my stuff. I actually met my wife in automotive class in high school. She was there for the perpose of learning enough about cars so she wouldn't be terribly ignorant of them and not as prone to be taken advantage of......but she met me....... and I better not catch anyone working on her car!

I don’t trust any insurance as far as I could throw them
I've said for years that the only bigger crooks than insurance companies is the Government. Don't let them boss you or her around. They'll try to get away without doing much if they can, but I believe that they are required to by. If they give you an offer that you don't like, tell them that it's not good enough and you know that they can do better.

Quite possibly the biggest ponzie scheme ever.
I completely agree. It's a shame that we're required to carry insurance, but there's no regulations that say what the insurance companies have to do to help us comply with that law.
my wife talked to one company that wouldn't insure me because I've been in an accident. Are you serious! What's the point!
Several years ago, I tried to get a job working for a guy who ran several different mail routes. His trucks would pick up mail at a regional Post Office and take it to a few smaller ones in smaller towns. I had a speeding ticket on my record and he told me that his insurance company didn't like that and didn't want to insure me. As it turned out, that was a good thing because he was a BIG TIME (donkey) and I probably would have ended up getting a fight with him, probably physically.

I don't want to steal the thread, but I want to add this comment about my wife looking for insurance today: she had a local agency give us a quote for our 86 bronco and 90 firebird (KITT)as "collector" vehicles that aren't daily drivers. Even if the vehicle was "totaled" we could keep the vehicle and title and repair it, and thy cover the vehicle for what they're worth instead of current scrap metal prices. I don't understand all the politics but the company is called "Hagerty", might be worth looking into for us old car/truck guys.

Don’t worry I stray from my main thing all the time. It’s like one big group chat LOL

This perfectly depicts A, how stupid insurance is when it comes to pricing and their value of older vehicles. And B, how much I hate insurance. Did I already say that? Oops. I especially feel for people with obs 7.3 powerstrokes, 2nd gen and first gen diesel dodges. At least they can show market value, but even then the insurance will barely bump it up.

I spent all day building this filter setup because the last one I built 2 years ago definitely looked like something I would’ve built 2 years ago lol

This will keep the pump from getting a bunch of mud and water all over it.

That's a fine creation! When I grow up I want to fabricate stuff like that.

Strive to be better than me!! (I’m sure you probably are lol). My granddad always says that every weld you make should be better than the last one. I think that applies to everything (I’m sure that’s why he says it) because you don’t have to be perfect, we never will be, but it’s always good to better yourself no matter what.

Who wants to grow up? That's no fun!
It's inevitable.....

If I had a better welder, I could improve. But Northern Tool Brand only allows you to be subpar. My lawnmower deck welding is improving.

The thing is, anyone can patch but it really takes a mind to fabricate. Even if you designed it and had someone else make it. My point was the actual design of the thing is good.
