Just a thought...
Think about sucking the garbage off the bottom of the tank when you guys are doing this job.

IMO I'd rather it be a straight hose, to suck all that garbage up and pass it into the numerous fuel filters I'll change out over time, then to sit in the bottom of the tank eventually plugging the screen or showerhead. My only concern would be sucking up something big enough to plug the fsv. but that can be stopped by some glass screens before it. FWIW you should also have some sort of filter before the lift pump anyways, preferably a fuel filter water/separator. You can get those in 20 or so micron rating so you don't plug it up and have to swap it out all the time.

I've had junk get in my tank selector valve before, switching tanks rapidly was enough to get it unstuck, and hasn't been an issue since.

I'm actually eliminating the FSV and will have a 3/8 3way ball valve between the front seats. On the WMO tank there will be a filter between the tank and my valve, the returns will go to the WMO tank as to keep a clean diesel tank for shut down. I'll detail it on my future " WMO tow truck" thread. I just really wanted an "alternative to shower heads" thread. I've really appreciated the feedback, who knew galvanized and diesel didn't get along?

I did like, WHOA clean the tanks out. The plastic tank had about an inch of hard slime in the bottom and the original steel tank looked great on the outside, but it had a bunch of pin holes from the inside. I got another one from my junkyard friend. It's rusty on the outside, but perfect on the inside. One day ,after the truck's earned it a bit, I'll buy a new tank, but my $50 junkyard tank should give a few years service.

And look at you! with "just a thought"..... that's Bart's line.

My fuel system is going to be pretty much new all the way to the IP before I touch the key again. I wouldn't trust that stuff....... Colonel Harvey's indian elixir (for all you Andy Griffith fans out there)

Power Service is highly recommended by DFIS in Portland, they're a certified Stanadyne and Bosch pump/injector builder. I've taken several pumps to them, ranging from vw's, Fords, and Cummins with good results, they onle suggest power service.

Definitely not snake oil.

I just used 2 bottles of that this summer on a duramax. He was plugging fuel filters monthly and getting low injection pressure codes. Pulled and dumped the filter and it looked like it was full of rusty goop, but the truck has plastic tanks. Dumped a bottle of that in each tank, ran the fuel polisher on it for a couple hours, filled the tanks full, and told him to drive it that week until it was nearly empty. Next fill up we threw a bottle of power service's clear diesel between the tank, and he should be good to go.
