So my AC wasn’t working at all. I replaced the resistor and motor and both are working. I can feel the fan speeds change, but the airflow is really really weak. Do the OBS have cabin air filters by chance? I’d really like to get it fixed asap as all of next week is high 90s. Thank yall

No cabin filter. There's probably leaves and stuff in your air box. After you clean the duct work and air box out, consider putting HVAC tape on the seams under the hood. That way all the cooling goes in the truck.

Some say there are no "stupid questions", but I've really heard some zingers in my time. Your's is NOT a stupid question, now the "cabin filter in an OBS" question was close but not quite.

The whole shebang is the airbox. Pull the fan out, vacuum in there, spray compressed air at the evaporator/condenser (I can't remember which is which) that you'll have access to through hole where the fan goes. Vacuum some more in there, any access point you can make, make it and clean it out. All the way up to pulling your dash apart and completely restoring your truck.

Is any air coming out of the defrost at windshield or is it all coming out of dash vents?

Well I was pretty sure there was no cabin air filter. But I’m use to the dodges having times. It does come out of the defrost a lot better that the vents

If you pull the blower out under the hood, you can then see toward the engine a coil inside. This is the evaporator coil for the A/C. Like any A/C when it's working it sweats. Over the years dirt sticks in all this moisture and turns into a mud that clogs the coil. All your air from the blower has to go through this coil, no matter if you are in heat or A/C mode. Like was mentioned above, you can squirt some cleaner on it and try to clean it off the best you can. You can't do a good job like you could if it was out, but taking it out is a pain.

You might want to make sure the door that swaps the air flow is moving, if you are getting a disproportionate amount of air at the defrost.

If you are not going to use the A/C, you can just leave that coil out and put the box back together. You would be amazed the air flow and amount of heat you get when the air can freely flow without that dirty coil in there.

Hoping this was the problem and not more random stuff
....I may not be a smart man..... but I know a clogged evaporator when I see one......I'm pretty sure you found it! If you're that far in clean everything good.

Does anyone know the name of this line? I’ve tried looking for diagrams and I cant find it. It comes from the radiators and goes to the pipe coming out from under the evaporator

That's called the "liquid line" which goes from the condenser to the evaporator I believe. Here it is for my 1989 diesel. Is this it?
