So a couple years ago, I bought an 85 flatbed to part out and get some stuff I wanted. But in that truck was all the owner stuff for that 1985 IDI truck as well as all the stuff from the 1983 IDI truck he traded in to get the 85. So I figured a couple of y'all that are restoring a truck or driving a truck that's lacking these things might be interested in them, because you know a restoration isn't complete unless you have a manual. I was also curious if anyone of you have any unique ford pariphinalia that you can share with the group. Both my 86 and 87 have all their complete paperwork. I found a Ford "want book" in a tool box I got a couple months ago, the guy must have been really satisfied with life because there's only one note written in it! I could fill it up in a minute!

When I get a minute, I'll show you a window sticker off of one of those trucks. It's neat to see how worthless a dollar is 30+yrs later.

Our 86 didn`t have any paper work or manuals when we bought it.
But when we bought the 85, we got just every every piece of paper and books from day one. Even have the Banks Turbo install and other info on it.

Once in a while I come across an owners manual in the yards, as void of any paper work in vehicles in the yards, My thinking is PNP pulls it and throws it in the trash before setting the vehicles on line.

Alright
cant wait to see it
So it's not a window sticker, it's the receipt of perchase. Dated a couple days before Christmas 1982! That's a candyapple red cab chassis diesel, 4 speed, air conditioned. I have no idea what new trucks sell for, but I guess it's a lot more than that.

Two and a half years ago a basic F250 crew cab diesel was starting at 65k before add on’s, registration, taxes, dealer prep, financing, etc., etc. Guessing due to inflation and COVID that it has gone up.

Crazy how some folks are asking 11k (Maybe getting it.) for their idi 30 plus years and 300,000 miles later.

converting 11k 1983 dollars into todays money its comes in around 33k
Crazy ain't it. I don't have the paper work but I have enough evidence to show that the guy traded the 83 for the 85 that I parted out. But it looks like he paid cash for his brand new top of the line, first of it's kind diesel Ford. I don't know anyone that would go pay cash for a new Ford truck, but that's just not my crowd.

That is what I paid for a 2011 F-150 Regular Cab XL, 2wd, V-6 N/A, long bed. Had a cloth seat and the better radio and the tow package... funny thing is, it was equipped almost the same as my 88 IDI XLT Lariat that I had at the same time.

This was before vehicle prices went crazy (Early 2019). My F-150 in my sig (not the one mentioned above, that one was totaled) I paid ~14k for it in June of 2020, again before the prices spiked. To buy that same truck today would cost me almost 20.... and that is with the miles on it now... not what was on it when I bought it....

I've not looked at a brand new C&C like your receipt was for. But the XLT F-150/250's at my local dealer (and remember the XLT is a "lower" range package now... there are like 3-4 above it now.. XLT Sport, XLT Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch) and all in the mid $50k and up range. An F-150 "work truck" white paint, rubber floor, 2wd, V-6, stereo (think fleet, like the phone company, or power company would have) is $35k.. and that is a basic truck.....

I think to get the 6.7 diesel, that is a $10-12k OPTION, on top pf the price of a comparable gas truck.

With the crazy truck prices now... I could almost get what I paid for my 2003 Excursion in 2007, if I sold it today.......

I bought an 86 bronco that "might run" though it didn't run for $1000 about a month ago. Spent @ $150 on a couple gaskets and odd and ends and now it does run, go, and stop. If someone offered me $6,000... I might sell it, but how would I replace it. It's hard to come by a bull nose bronco in good shape for cheap. I wouldn't know how to even approach buying a vehicle that could actually crank up and run.

Ok Jesus Freak, let's get a little freaky!

You may notice the window sticker does not show the price! Freaky used car guys just can't be upfront! They want to make you beg them for the price.
