Ok so im replacing my valley pan and while replacing im obviously removing components. Well I figured I should do my glow plugs cause why not. And my passenger rear glow plug disintegrated after removing the harness from it. So I literally having nothing to grab with channel locks or anything......suggestions?

I’ve had great luck drill with a 1/8” drill bit. You can only go do deep, but almost 95% of the time the bit causes friction, heats up the tip of the glow plug and becomes one with the drill bit. Just have to remember to blow the dust build up out so your bit can get down to the tip of the plug.

As in at the head level there is nothing but a little nub with no way to grab on to it. I have a feeling some of the other ones are gunna crumble also. The truck on has 68000 miles on it but it sat since 1994.

Oof. Could try drilling, but I'd be worried about debris falling down. Or, leave it. Run on 7 glow plugs.

I'm with Nero. Just roll with it. It'll crank on only 3 or 4 good glow plugs. And at some point the motor has to come apart, deal with it then. And like Clb said, there's no way it's 68K.

It's entirely possible, my truck only has 93k on it, but for added proof I bought it from the original owner.
But as some comfort, my in laws truck has two glow plugs that are dead and won't unthread, so I left them unhooked. Fires up fine.

Run it as is, but in the meantime clean all around it and soak in PB blaster/Kroil/ATF & Acetone to free the threads. Can drill in enough for an extractor, then heat as hot as possible with propane/mapp torch and twist it out. Or just drill for the extractor and heat with an acetylene torch and it'll spin out.

That's pretty amazing Clb. I had a 95 with a 5.0 in it. When that odometer gets to 399,999 and your expecting 400,000 it actually goes back to 300,000. I felt robbed, but if you have an OBS truck that reads 300K it might actually be more.
