On the way back hauling a 600$ bull i bought I smelled diesel bad and saw my gauge drop so I pulled into the gas station and was greeted to this mind you it was 5x bigger by the time it was done leaking
Thought it would be the 4” rubber line on the inlet but no my 6 month old 3k mile Delhi pump cracked
I would like to know why this happened to see if it was just a defective pump or external factors where at play to prevent this form happening again
A gallon per foot isn’t really good with the gas prices these days

Ouch. Another reason I'm glad I went electric, if mechanical ones being made today can break like that.

now that i have secured a reliable back up truck for when my 6.9 breaks i am considering a electric fuel pump ive red alot on them on this site and the holley red seems like the best https://www.holley.com/products/fue...carbureted_electric_fuel_pumps/parts/12-801-1
if i read correct ill id need is the pump, fuel filter before pump, fuel line, and stuff for wiring?

You can disregard the ball valves, tees, and spin on filter but the rest are what were needed. Well, the wire harness connectors are optional but it makes it easy to pull if you ever need to service it. Important for my E350 application with it underneath on the frame.

I used two fittings to run a hose between the hard lines where the mechanical pump hooks up, should I ever want to go back. Might have to go dig up my thread about it to see what they were exactly since, if i remember right, the ones in the above pic were wrong.

had a title and keys
My observation is life is there's this "give and take" thing, so you made the $ on the bull, but lost it on the ground with the diesel. But hey, I lost my hat on a cow sale earlier this week but the week before I got an outstanding deal on a 4yr old bred cow.........so I'm STILL UP!!!!

Got my pump out and not only was it cracked the hardline is spraying diesel out of it now
How can both a fuel pump crack and the hardline break at the same time I’m so lost

Didn't hit something recently that could have weakened it? Perhaps it took a while to actually break open.

Where could that much vibration come from?
No it didn’t hit anything to my knowledge but that is the theory I’m most leaning on
Where can I even buy a new line besides Russ’ hard line delete kit?

Are you wanting to put another mechanical? If not, just cut the line in a good place and put on a compression fitting and adapt it to a 3/8" hose barb, and put in a patch hose between the newly installed hose barb and the other line with a hose barb already.
