I've got a 1988 F-350 7.3 IDI with a dual rear end and two fuel tanks. I know I need both fuel pickup tubes A.K.A. "The showerheads" but I'm not having much luck in finding ones to fit my truck. I see them listed for 1992 and up ect. but none for the 88. Anyone else had luck finding these parts?

So I just put a bit of fuel line on the end of mine and cut notches so it doesn't suction itself to the bottom of the tank.

However here's an option and and alternative:

Edit, saw you need the whole thing. I'd verify you don't have a wiring issue first, usually they fail to read low all the time, not full.

My senders are wonky too, I was going to see if I could rebuild the unit by stripping parts and replacing the old ones with new ones. Good luck.

I like the idea of using a piece of fuel hose, I may put a brass fitting on the end to ensure that it does not suction itself down like you mentioned. I have yet to crawl under the truck and drop the tanks but I'm planning to the next clear day we have. Thanks for the relies everyone.

In my opinion, it's easier to lift the bed, assuming the carriage bolts play nicely. If you were doing just one tank, I'd drop it, but both....

One of the bed nuts unthreaded and fell off of my F250, but it is very rust free so maybe that's why. I was vacuuming out the bed with a small shop vac and the bolt lifted up a bit when I went across it. Thankfully I was right by a hardware store, so I took the bolt in and got a replacement nut.
