Love the build and updates! At first I wasn't sure about the cerakote theme but now I'm digging it and it's looking really good as an accent color besides the practical uses. Nice work on the paint, mirrors are a cool upgrade.

Nice work!

One thing I could never understand is small mirrors on a big truck. I really miss the mirrors on my '95 E250.

Honestly, I wasn't sure either, but I'm really happy how it's turning out. More to come!

I finished a replacement for the astray today. You guessed it... It's cerakoted. Screws are driving me nuts, need to paint those black. Switches for this and that as well as two 98 watt USB/PD (QC3.0/QC4.0) ports. The center USB with aux jack will be connected to the head unit. No, I didn't use the cigar lighter circuit, I ran a dedicated On/Acc circuit from an updated fuse/relay block.
Cigar lighter circuit now powers a Sony XM-S400D amp tucked into the dash.

There's an enormous amount of wiring going on behind this, but it's in. Two camera inputs, one for tailgate camera and one for trailer camera. This took work.

Carpet, headliner and trim installed. Windshield was installed Monday.
Grabbed a late model dome light.

Since I have no footwell lights I installed a pair of diodes to light the Map Lights when the Dome light is on. Bulbs are LED, must be LED.

The diodes maintain independent control of each map light but allow both map lights to come on when the dome light is on.

Pulled the '08 SD Passengers side seat apart to prepare for the addition of Heat/Cool and re-upholstery.
To get the seat bottom cover off, the seat back needs to removed.... Luckily it was easy.
Surprisingly, the seat bottom cover was attached with 14 hog rings.... 14!!
I'll do pics when I do the Drivers side.
I stripped all unnecessary wiring from the seat frame which was just the factory seat heat provisions.
I blasted and painted the frame. I don't know why.

Timing question:
I know the hive mind has settled on 9.5-8.5* of advance for the generic/mild IDI.
I'd like to know how folks with larger turbos and pumps have set theirs up.
Current Queso is running about 7* when she's good and hot.
As a refresher, Queso has a 110 pump and a 3582/T350 turbo.

This is not "settled". It's a good starting point. A lot of people say that theirs seem to like less advance. In general, from what I've seen, N/A engines seem to like to run with timing toward the higher end while turbo engines seem to like to run toward the lower end.

@IDIBRONCO
I know what you're saying. I've had to have read every timing related thread across three different forums by now, and I've gathered the same feeling. What I am noticing is that in the large majority of these threads, folks "advanced" or "retarded" timing using the static timing mark as a reference without stating their actual dynamic timing. This give me the feeling people are timing by feel. Not to say that's wrong, it just drives my engineering mind crazy. I'm not artistic, my wife says I'm the other one....

Probably depends a lot on your use. Running lite w/little or no towing or extended periods of foot in the fan.
My '94 IDI is stock except the 3" aftermarket stuff on the turbo and a little more fuel. Set it at 10.5* years ago and enjoy the snappy accel.
w/great fuel mileage (20mpg) but seldom have my foot in it over 1 min.
