Strange, seems i can find cheap 4in stainless 90s everywhere, amazon has them for only 22$ but 45s seem to be over 50 bucks a piece anywhere i look.

Yea, i was thinking taking the exhaust over the axle all the way out the back vs dumping it in front of the axle. It would be a lot easier to just dump it in front of the axle

Cheaper to end it in front of the rear tire, but then your tire is all black along with the sheet metal.
My BIL has an 94 IDI with aluminum wheels, and the wheel is always black. If you have/want nice polished wheels, then that sucks.

Also dumping it front of the wheel is noisier compared to dumping out behind the wheel.

yea, im not real worried about things getting covered in soot but i do want to make the truck quieter. All i need is 3 90s cutting one in half will give me the 2 45s i need, and i think i should be able to get it over the axle without to much difficulty. Most of the noise from the truck just seems to be engine noise up front, i was think about trying to put some good sound insulation on the firewall to help with that.

Why don`t you just Dynamat the whole interior?
That should quiet things down some.

If you buy the X-Mat from East wood, it is cheaper than
Dynamat. Did the whole interior of my 86, along with window channel, window wipes and new door seals and new door panels. Made a big difference in being able to talk to my Favorite Squeeze.

Keep in mind, Cutting the 90s in half will work if you have a welder handy, but won't leave you with any room to slip fit the straight pipe in/over the center section with enough to clamp down on.

Yea, I'll be welding it together. I'll take a look at the x mat. I keep going back and forth trying to decide to either restore this truck or go with the 99 and newer frames but I'v already done so much work to this old truck I might as well continue with it. If I do all the sound proofing to it I will just end up restoring the whole inside cab.
