Sounds like my kind of places!

Its missing the hardware store that you can walk in with a list and get everthing you need without going 2ft past the door along with the dinner that still has the pies in glass pedestals in the same circle.

Northern makes an all aluminum radiator that looks exactly like the brass one I’ve had in one in my truck for four years now no issues at all about 380 bucks through American radiator in Des Moines Iowa

I've always been a bit shocked at the depth of my radiator, which visually struck me as 3-1/2 inches or so deep, I'll have to go measure and "core count". Makes me think what I have isn't stock and that being a bit proactive about having a good spare is warranted.

Side note and having little/nothing to do with these Fords, but a good data point: my long expired 99 BMW 740 came stock with a plastic radiator, which had a nasty habbit of developing pin hole leaks which sprayed coolant all over the engine bay, staining paint, hoses, and aluminum. After the 3rd one in 30K miles under warrun-damn-tee... dealer replacement was an aluminum HD unit used by Alpine - which lasted for the remaining life of the car (another 150K miles), and added a loads of cooling capacity. BMW had / continues to have a very bad habit of trading any weight reduction for reliability (plastic vs. brass cable window lift guides anyone...). This is not advice or fingerpointing - just a data point about my experience.

I thought about doing a twin electric fan setup, but isn't it better for our engines to constantly have an airflow across them, mostly to help keep the manifolds cooler? Least that's what I've always heard about belt driven fans on longitude mounted engines.
My understanding is no one has been able to find a way to get electric fans to move as much air as the factory fan does, and it becomes evident when towing.

Sooooo I just got off the phone with the local radiator shop, they said to recore my 4 core radiator, $1244 because brass is hard to come by right now. But they'll see if they can find some new old stock.

Guess I'll have to consider that champion after all....

Edit, they called back, I could get a 3 core for $1074... Or their aluminum radiator with steel brackets... For $875. I think I see a champion in my near future.

Managed to get a 3 core on order from Champion! Came back in stock, pushed the order through before they sell out again!

Checked them out, price is definitely comparable. Might consider them in the future of the Champion peters out. But on sale the radiator and shipping was only $315.

They are indeed more expensive but mishimoto is a brand that's got a lot of reputation in my area and the lifetime warranty is sweet. The champion looks good and probably will last a long time so either one is probably comparable I'm just partial to mishimoto

I'm not discrediting them, I just hadn't heard of them until today. Looks quality.
