That's a few miles from me. It's in great shape, but it's nearly 30 years old. I was watching it for a minute, hoping to get a creampuff for a deal, but that's not going to happen lol. I know some guys that work for the village and they can't believe what it's going for.

After the auction is completed..
we should all print a copy of the final bid, and keep it in a save place.
Then, if anything happens to our vehicle, we take it out of the file, show it to the insurance adjuster, and point.
"Don't try to low ball me. I know what I have, and what it's worth.
Here is a recent comp!! See!? ":sly (sarcasm)

I actually like that idea.

I've debated on posting this, as I want it for myself. But I really don't want to **** off my soon to be wife 2 months before the wedding, and buying this will do just that. So here it is 1993 One ton Ford Centurion bronco with 7.3 diesel non turbo

It says make an offer, and I'd surely do just that as it's got rust and has sat for some time.

I just saw one listed for sale a couple of weeks ago. I didn't bother to look at it very closely since the ad said that it had a gas engine.

If it's as nice as it looks in the pictures, and the mileage is correct it might be an alright price?

Is that IDI or PSD? I can’t remember but I was thinking 94 could be PSD if manual, but maybe that was only as an auto I can’t remember.

Two things kill a vehicle. Time and mileage.

To me +20k for a ~30 year old IDI truck just does not add up. (30% of the cost of a néw 6.7 power stroke?) I do believe COVID has driven up the used car market. Once new vehicle production catches up, I believe our trucks will come back down in price till they become collectible antique trucks. Then the original and straight ones will be worth some big bucks.

To TNBrett’s comment if a PSD maybe not such a bad price. He mentioned a true statement a while back, the days of a decent work truck for 1.5-2k are gone.

I think as Covid concerns drop over the next 24 months so will used vehicle prices.(Supply and demand effects.) What is here to stay is the fact vehicle prices are rising with inflation, a basic diesel truck is now over 65k. When that hits +85k some day, a decent used IDI truck is likely to cost over 10k. 10k sounds cheap vs 80k. Easy decision for a guy who can do most of the repairs needed himself.

Makes me wonder if we should be stock pilling dead 6.0 power strokes on the cheap for the future. (As over time parts for ours will get hard to find.)

It could be a PSD. That turbo diesel badge on the fender, usually came on the IDI Factory Turbo trucks, but I have seen them on a PSD also.

But in 1994 Ford offered 3 diesel options:

7.3 N/A IDI - E4OD or ZF-5
7.3 IDIT - E4OD or ZF-5
7.3 PSD - ZF-5 (Technically a 94.5 per Ford)

(This is why when you order parts, you tell them it’s a 93 for an IDI or a 95 for a PSD. Tell them it’s a 94 even with the VIN Letter, its a crap shoot)

Ford did not offer the E4OD and PSD until the 95 Model Year

My Son had a 94.5 PSD and it was a 5 Speed, but it did have the Power Stroke decal on the fender and not the TURBO DIESEL

New vehicle prices do a lot to drive up used vehicle prices. I think there’s been a permanent shift in the way new cars are sold. I don’t think you are ever going to see dealers with 300 or more new cars sitting on a lot again. Gone are the days of big rebates and model year close out deals. The company I work for has a GM fleet number. 3 years ago that got you about $8k off of a gas 3500 crew cab work truck. Today more like $500. Maybe you get a better deal if you’re a big company ordering 20 trucks at a time but it doesn’t help us much. The manufacturers are making more money per unit, and the dealers aren’t tying their money up on new inventory. Dealers are keeping more used inventory and charging a premium for it. Also if you’re in the position that you have a $30k truck that you want to sell personally, you’re kinda in a tough spot. The trucks are worth it, but most buyers want to finance that much. Problem is, most banks don’t want to finance unless it’s through a licensed dealer.

Anyway, all that to say I wouldn’t expect to see prices come back down anytime soon.

That’s what I was thinking, and that the very early PSD’s had Turbo Diesel badging.

To be fair... I wouldn't sell my crew cab for less than $10k, but I also had a complete paint job done on it in '15, front and rear axle gone through, and engine only has 93k on it. But I also can't replace it, so just gonna keep it for now.
Interesting to see 2wd's going for so much.
