Mods, if this should be in a different section, please feel free to move it.

The tread lugs on my new tires are picking up a LOT of rocks on my gravel road.

And then are throwing them all over the place when I am going down the road.

Thinking it would be a good idea to get a set of mudflaps, before I get sued because someone's windshield gets busted.

I know this isn't much of a topic, but does anyone have any recommendations for mudflaps for my 92 F250?

Go to a wrecking yard buy two off a dually of some kind (box trucks are good) and get them where they hang good and low than mount each one with 3 links of chain some bolts and flat bar. Makes some weird noises when parked on a windy day but never gets torn off cause it's flexible.

My wife bought me a pair of IH ones for Christmas.
There was already a horizontal bar on my truck to hang them from.

Depends if you want some Big Truck manly one`s,
or some little dainty ones.
Maybe some Yosemite Sam "Back off or else"

I threw on a set to keep crap from being thrown on my
Car Trailer and the load Iam carrying. And in the winter
Snow get packed in the back side of the Bumper etc...
Also helps keep from throwing snow/slush so much.
And I do live on a Gravel Road.
I wanted them close to the tire, but with the Leaf Spring
in the way, the Flap was going to have to be behind it.

I finally said "screw it" and mounted them with bolts on
the flat area where the bed ends and behind Tail Gate.
So they hang flush with the bumper, and stick out to the side of the bed about 3". They are 24 x 28 and about 3" off the ground.

I made a card board temp plate and then cut to fit. I cut a slot for the Bumper Bracket so the flap could come up around it.
Where it sticks out to the side of the bed I notched it to follow the curve of the bed.

I bought these a NAPA and are the black plastic one`s, we have 1 NAPA the sells parts to the truckers and they have a large supply.

Yeah I could have cut them shorter or narrower, but I drive a Manly "Bull Nose" snort ...snort.... ;Really

I have a single mudflap on my truck. There used to be two, but I killed one backing over a curb. The mudflap got pinched between the curb and the tires. The tire rotation bent the flap bracket and broke the solder joints.

My remaining mudflap sits ~3 inches behind the wheels, and ~5 1/2 inches off the road. I'll buy a new set some day, but it's a question of "Christmas of which year?"

I haven't cut the height and bolted them on yet.

You must be registered for see images attach

I took some mudflaps off an f super duty dump truck, cut to height, and bolted on the bumper of my old 6.9 .
There wasn't enough width on each side in front of the bumper, so they had to go on the back like that..
I don't think it looked that bad either.
They did the job.

What sucks, is I've worked on semis for the last 10 years, and haven't seen those flaps yet in person. Shame. Too many modest drivers over here

Also the big trucking companies (SWIFT, Roadway, Yellow, etc.) probably have rules to prevent that now for HR reasons.

But I am old enough to remember seeing them all the time too. Often in the center of the grill to boot.

And remember when a guy could pin up his Snap On calendar and clock in his bay at the stealership! Those days are gone, has to be puppy or kitten calendar now or you are being offensive and insensitive to the world.

Very true. Our HR is very strict about explicit stuff.
Funny you say those big companies, we still see a lot of owner/operators come in, the shop I'm at is right on the i5 corridor next to Washington
