Heidi will be at camp until the 16th, and Missy starts VBS the 17th at church. So unfortunately, we can't make it.

Going to make an appointment when it gets closer for a tour of the museum of the coal mine Henry Ford owned. The person that runs it is very excited. I think it's a tiny place, but seems appropriate. Especially if you've visited the complex in Detroit and saw all the insanity Henry Ford was up to haha. Might be cool to see something else he was doing.

One of the things they offer is a sightseeing tour, $50 for half day per person, $100 full day (like 8 hours and you cross state lines).

I am working with some locals to see if we can do our own tour or hire one of them for the price of fuel.

I value their time and expertise, but that would be $200 for my family

hello everyone, i am still looking for a RV bed to sleep on for the rally, i am registered for the tent site but i would prefer to sleep on a real bed for a week. so if anyone has an open bed avaliable please let me know.

and for food, is it everyone brings their own food or are we doing big group meals? sorry if it is a dumb question.

This is a post I have been dragging my feet to make. Megan and I aren't going to make the rally this year. As much as we wanted to we just can't swing it financially between the cost of fuel and how much everything else in life has gone up in price. It's all left our vacation fund almost nonexistent anymore. You don't know how much we will miss everyone this year. I hope everyone has a great time and hopefully we will be able to see everyone next year!

Goose is a "definite maybe", me, you. Miles had to back out but for a good reason (new job!).
We have been working on getting the sxs "road legal" and that's been a lot of fun.
I love unnecessary lighting, so hoping to add some to everything while I'm in the electrical mood.

VW work has been good so chipping away at the costs now so it doesn't murder me at the last minute

Planning a nature and historic atv tour, lasts from 9:30 am to about 5/6 pm, they said kid friendly, easier trails and lots of stops for snacks.

Right now the schedule is wide open. Cost is 350 for any size group.

Since money is tight, I was going to ask people chip in what they can (or nothing) and I'll cover the rest (covid has been good to business for me). Also this community has given so much to me these past 11 years! I owe all of you

I would honestly have people join and not pay then not join for financial reasons.

That's a very generous offer, Danielle. You make me want to come there, really you do, but it's such a long way. Even if I was driving to Maine it's a ways south of my route (I80 and I90), but not totally out of the question. I can be tempted, with the right inducement.

Maybe next year the rally will be more to the west. :)
