Seems like 4.10 has been the ratio of choice. I would like to try to stay with the 3.55 if possible, or go all out
throw a gear vender at a 4.10 and see how that works.

It looks like a single wheel axle. Like the price . Not sure but that may not fit my Cab and Chassis.

Oh cab & chassis? I thought you meant Crew Cab. Then you can use most any cab & chassis F350 diff since maybe 1970 thru to '97.

Pickups have about 45" spacing while C&C is about 40".

Car-part.com is the place you want to look. They connect to all the junkyards so you just put in your truck details and it will show you all the junkyards that have a compatible axle in stock. I found dozens and dozens of axles within a few hours of me when I looked, with plenty in the $250-350 range.

We’ll I spoke too soon. It looks like my SRW pickup axle is a lot easier to come by than your cab and chassis axle. I’m not sure where you are in Arkansas but I searched Little Rock and didn’t see any direct replacement axles for yours within 200 miles.

I am in northwest Arkansas. I may stand corrected due to my lack info but the cab and chassis is a little different critter than the trucks with a bed. I have found a few 4:10s far away and seemingly very pricey. The rig is 2wd so changing to different ratio is no problem i just don't think I want to go to a 4:10 . Truck will be a little short legged. The best deal I have found is a 3:55 in a 1988 E350 cut away chassis, an old mini home. I need more info as to will this have any chance to fit or not. I need to go look and see if it is a Dana or bite the bullet and have the one I have built . The local shop that can do this gave me sticker shock just talking to them.

The E350 cutaway diff will be wider as I said before. If your deck is as wide or wider, that could be fine.

The perch spacing is around 50" on these and will need to be changed. And move/change shock mounts.

Thanks for the info. I should know this due to being in the motorized RV business for 35 years. Must of had my head in a
real dark place for a moment. Being wider is what helps the minis with the height issues which make sway bad at times.
In the hunt for replacement. Thinking about a build. Not in any big hurry at this time.

I have found a 80 mod cab and chassis which i found out that it is a dana. The owner can not find the axle tag but the truck is a 2WD gas power. Would this be a good donner without a lot of altering . I am not sure of all the changes in these trucks. I asked the owner to look at the diff cover . Replied that the cover has a drain plug in it.

So long as it's a c&c and not pickup with the bed missing, should be usable.

Pinon length doesn't change much from the 70 to 10.25". Might be a different ujoint though. The diff cover would have a fill plug. No speed/ABS sensor on the 70.
