I'm always doing something to my truck so I thought it would be fun to create a thread to cronicle the adventures of GBT*
*GBT = "Go Big Truck"... my youngest daughter used to say that as a toddler every time we got ready to go somewhere, she never asked to ride in the car.
The truck is a Black XLT 1993 F350 Crew Cab Dually, factory IDIT (turbo replaced with 2nd gen Banks), 5 SPD, as of this post it has 230k miles. Truck is in overall great shape and practically zero rust.
Upgrades/work I've done in the past.
-Rebuilt heads (after finding two broken valve springs)
-Replaced glow plugs
-Powermaster Starter
-Rebuilt Injector Pump from Russ/CDD
-Redhead steering box
-Borgeson steering shaft
-Rebuilt front end with all poly bushings
-Replaced cab mounts with poly bushings
-Fixed a really small rust spot on the corner of the rear window.
-Slotted front brake rotors to help brake response in heavy rain.
-Converted brakes to Hydroboost
-Retrofitted a 1994 R-134 AC system into the truck (way better than the"conversion" it had before)
-Replaced radiator
-Replaced battery cables with custom built heavy duty ones
-New flywheel and clutch (SMF, I miss how quiet the DMF was)
-Replaced U-Joints
-Replaced hood liner with a thicker sound deadner/heat insulation
-Added radiant a heat shield to the bottom of the cab above the down pipe and "header wrapped" the crossover pipe, cab is noticably cooler now.
-Undercoated truck with Fluid Film (need to do again)
-New carpet
-Re-ulpostered the sun visors
-Replaced instrument cluster bezel
-Installed on-board air compressor (Viair continous duty)
The adventure continues...
