Hi everybody new here and looking to buy a diesel (first one). I have found a great deal on a f350 but it has an oil leak that I’m not so sure about from the turbo. Turbo hose putting oil all over the top on the engine. Also very little puffs of white smoke at air box/turbo hose .
Picture loaded with circled hose in question (best I could fine but black plastic hose back to top of engine) let me know what you think

Another question pertaining to this leak and smoke is if the outlet hose for the turbo goes to the crankcase and it’s pushing oil/ not draining properly would that be blow by?
I have drove the truck already and there wasn’t smoke at idle from from the exhaust just a tiny bit from oil fil and the turbo hose/ air filter.

After looking at your picture several times and rereading your posts several more times, I think that you're asking about only one problem. You may not realize it, bit I think that you only have one issues here. And after thinking more about this, I had to delete a lot of what I had written after this point. There is a plastic hose that connects the CDR and the valve cover. It doesn't go to the crankcase. This hose allows the excess crankcase gasses (and there is a lot of excess crankcase gasses by design) to go through the CDR and into the air filter to be burned in the cylinders. Since this is plastic, it turns brittle over time, can crack, and may not seal well against the valve cover. All of that can cause oil to drop out of suspension and drip out onto the valve cover or head. The problem is that ATS (the brand of this turbo system) no longer supports these older turbo kits. As far as I know, there isn't any new hoses to be had and hasn't been for some time now. This hose is not any type of outlet for the turbo and doesn't connect to it in any way. The oil drain for the turbo is directly below it and only uses gravity to take the oil back to the oil pan. The puffs of smoke that you're seeing close to the circle in your picture are probably a crankcase gas leak. It may be from the aforementioned hose or from the CDR. If it's the CDR, then I would guess that the seal between it and the sir cleaner is bad and not sealing. It may also be as simple as the CDR is loose and you just need to tighten the mounting bolts. There's no way to tell without actually looking at the area in question to see where the leak is coming from.

@IDIBRONCO I appreciate the thorough reply. I think you are correct on what is leaking. Is there other tubing you can use to fix this?

I have to pass on this one. I've seen other set ups, but I don't even know how to try to describe them. Even 20 years ago, I saw people using RTV to deal that hose to the valve cover. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a solution.
