So iv seen a few tanks that are not the Spectre brand F26E tank. Are these alright to use with the diesel/ i dont know if they have any coating on them or not as it doesnt say. its 157$ on ebay while the spectre tank is 200 so theres a decent bit of savings there.

spectre itself is a cheap knockoff :D

ive used the cheapest off brand F26E equivalent in several trucks.
they do have a light coating on the outside.

the havnt seen anything on the inside.

they work with diesel.

alright, thanks that'll help me save a few dollars. My truck kinda went off into the mountain and destroyed the fuel tanks so nows a good time to upgrade to the bigger single tank

I’ve heard that you want to avoid galvanized tanks because the diesel reacts with the zinc and creates flakes/granules that will clog things up. I know the spectra tanks have a “ni-terne” coating that is supposedly safe with diesel. I don’t know how big of a deal it really is though.

Things I have read, the f26D is the same size as the F26E. Only difference I have read is the vent in the fill pipe which can be removed.
