Usually if I keep the runout that low, and remove the existing balance weights they spin pretty good. If not, hose clamps to find where the weight needs to be, and then welding the appropriate weights on fixes them right up. Have had pretty good results with this. If you want to give that a try, pm me And i will describe my process.

Glad to hear it's resolved. Our local shop holds run out to very small numbers too, but I still prefer to have the shaft balanced afterwards. Front shaft looks like it's angle will be just as steep, probably need a dc joint there too.

I laughed pretty hard at this, until I thought about it more. It's not a bad idea, but I don't think the diameter and centrifugal force created would be large enough for the beads to work. I've seen where the beads wouldn't fix a tire balance issue until the truck was over 40 mph, at 35 the thing would have a noticeable shake, 40 and up was smooth as glass. We actually fixed that one by putting tape weights inside the rim along with the balance beads.

Out of 3 local shops I have had ZERO success in having them do any shaft mods and then balance, or just trying to get one balanced. NEVER are smooth. Now, when they build a new one they are almost always OK.

Anymore, I only have them build new shafts.........if something needs modded I just do it myself, and balance myself if needed. Balancing on the car takes yokes into account also. Sometimes the balancing can get really time consuming but I just dont have a better option?
