Is the truck an f250 or f350? 4wd I am assuming? 33s work great on 4wd f250s without rubbing. I believe 35s will rub on an f250 but I never tried it.
As far as I know, 35s work on f350s (4x4).

I used to run 33s on a F250 with no lift. That's going to be your limit without rubbing, assuming your springs aren't sagging. That means a 285 or 305 tire if you're running 16" rims. On a solid axle F350 you should be able to run 315 tires without rubbing.
I'm not a fan of body lifts. Too many issues with bumper alignment, shifter linkages, and fan shroud clearance. If you're going to lift it spend the extra money and do a suspension lift.
