Anyone know where I can get an exact replacement Schrader Valve for the OE fuel filter sediment bowl? (1988 7.3)
Common tire valve on the right, the diesel unit on left!

The center part of it is a simple tire pressure valve center. You can buy that at any parts store. You will, of course, need the better type of screw on valve stem cap in order to get the old core out and the new core in. They are on a normal thread.

If you mean the entire housing for the center part, I'd maybe hit a wrecking yard.

This is true, mine leaked at one point and I replace just the "guts" with and ordinary valve for a tire.

This is not your usual tire valve which is on the right.
I'm also guessing that red material id ment to handle diesel fuel.

Perhaps those are off a big rig or tractor tire. Maybe hit a truck repair shop, CAT tractor dealer, or a truck stop.

Or as Gandalf said try a junkyard.

Good luck!

Hmmm, gotta wonder 'if' that red gasket is there to resist diesel fuel where as a regular Schrader Valve gasket would get soft.

Of course that might be a possibility. You'd have to find the maker of the unit, and the original use.

I replaced the valve core on my truck years ago. I used a valve core intended for tires, one which I had on hand for a long time, way longer than I've had my truck. I've seen no indication of deterioration.

I am also using a tire valve on my '89 crew cab. So far, so good. I'm thinking I should replace it with a tiny 1/4 turn valve, since the tire valve is a big pain to use when bleeding the air after a filter change.

Rather than replace the valve stem it might be easier to just buy a complete schrader valve. You can buy them with viton seals, which would be far superior to a rubber seal from a tire valve stem. Just figure out the thread on the filter housing (1/8 npt maybe?) and order a complete valve.

I spent waaaaay too much time today driving all over looking for a large Schrader Valve... and ended up getting one from a local tire place that is for big rigs.
Original valve on the left, replacement on the right.
If, this sediment bowl weeps after today's efforts, I give up and I'll install a one piece aftermarket fuel filter.
BTW (and sit down for this) see that water sensor in the sediment bow... $120.00 (image that!) I just replaced the O-ring.
