Here’s my 89 F-250. I bought it from some real-life hillbillies in Kentucky that lived without running water. It had a 450 gallon water tank in the bed all the time, and they used it to keep the house supplied with water. Amazing that it could get up their steep unpaved hill with 3500lb+ in the bed year-round!

Here is my "84 F-250 4x4,7.3L Conversion, Banks Turbo Sidewinder, Dually Conversion.
I bought this truck about 16 years ago to haul excavating equipment. Sold the excavators and kept "Lurch".
Thought about selling him, but I could never replace this truck with out spending a lot of money on newer truck.
Replace this truck with what?! Lol! I love this truck.

I bought this 84 6.9 with ATS turbo two weeks ago. It was a one-owner truck, and generally in very good shape. No dents anywhere and only a couple of spots of surface rust that I’ve found. The p/o put new brakes all around, new tires and a new IP. It wouldn’t start without ether, so I installed 8 new Motorcraft gp’s and a new gp relay. Now it fires up almost instantly. Six out of the eight crappy Autolite gp’s were swollen, but i was able to get them out without breaking any tips off by using the removal tool from Leroy Diesel.

This week I’m going to change all the fluids, except for the oil which has already been done. I have a couple of tie rod boots (or whatever they are called) that are torn and flat, so I have some work to do on those as well.

Looking forward to making this into a nice truck to pull my boat.

Welcome!

Nice truck. My favorite body style. Our 83 wasn’t in that nice of shape in the late 80’s… gotta love the rust belt….

Sure, here are a few more. I am including a pic of the ATS turbo. I don’t know which ATS model it is. Most of the pics I see of other ATS units have square filter housings instead of rectangle. The odometer show 8,200 miles, and the p/o claims it only has 108k miles total. I tend to believe him given all the maintenance records he gave me.

I probably paid too much for it ($4k), but it’s amazing to me how much money people are asking for absolute junk in the used truck market these days. Although much older this most, this one is in much better shape that most 10 year old trucks, and came with the original owners manual, diesel supplement manual and all maintenance records since new.
