On the glow plugs, these systems are very sensitive. If your red wait to start light on the dashboard does not stay on for 5-15 seconds, you likely have a glow plug controller/relay issue. You can also test if the glow plug harnesses are getting 12v for 5-15 seconds.

So even with good glow plugs, the harness, controller/relay, or the wiring to the controller/relay can be bad. When something is bad the wait to start light goes on for a second and goes off. Or does not go on at all.

Some news from Normandy (you have heard of this part of France where thousands of young Américans lost live in 1944).
I went to a diesel specialist in a village to take an appointment for my truck and he refused but sold me a miracle diesel cleaner to try .
But not by pooring it in the tank but by doing a close circuit with a one gallon tank filled with diesel and that liquid, the filter, pump, and return lines into that little tank to make the cleaner go many times throw the pump until the tank is empty
The engine is now completly different and runs nicely.

I wish all of our problems turned out that well. Stanadyne is good stuff.
