Long time lurker here, I have a 96 that had a similar problem. Truck would intermittently shut down and wouldn’t immediately start up again until it cooled off. The problem turned out to be the IPR/fuel heater harness that runs under the fuel bowl.

Well sir, i got a similar problem on my 2002 7.3. Running down the road at 70, it feels jerky, especially with the cruise control on. Like a little miss. Heve replaced every sensor, and have 65 lb fuel pressure. 2 sets of injectors, idm, and hpop. Nothing help's. Any suggestions anyone?

I have run into this. Nearly drove me nuts. What fixed it was pulling PCM connector and putting diaelectric grease on it. I have fixed two that way. Both were stalling under load. No codes.

good point. The newest version of these trucks are 18 years old. Wouldn't hurt to spray dexoit and clean both the harness and pins on both the PCM and IDM.

Yes the fuel bowl heater is still plugged in and intact and ignition switch feels tight no extra slop no more than usual
