Alright guys so I recently installed new head gaskets comp910 valve springs and turbo kit from R&D idi. While filling fluids today I noticed I have a leak at the front passenger cylinder of coolant. I’m going to try to Retorque the heads and see if the issue goes away. Truck has yet to be started so it’s leaking just while being filled with no pressure. Gaskets we’re installed correctly for instructions and heads lowered onto engine with a 2ton lift. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Also for note there was no issues with coolant leak prior to install
I have tagged Wes as I purchased the gaskets from him so hopefully he has a little insight.

I had some gasket maker so I resealed the thermostat and water neck surface and leak is still there.

Bad deal about the leak. Unfortunately, a leak that obvious probably won't be remedied with a retorque of the heads. I would think whatever it is will become obvious once the head is pulled.

At least you'll only have to pull one head. I agree that a re-torque will likely do nothing if you did it even halfway right the first time. Sounds like foreign material on the gasket surface or bad/damaged gasket.

Just curious, did you do the cam as well?

Edit: Is the engine on a stand or in the pickup? If back in the pickup already and you want to be certain about the coolant leak area you can add UV dye to the coolant. Then with a UV flashlight it'll show up easily, especially in low light conditions.

No I didn’t. I wanted to but didn’t have the funds after everything else. Maybe one day.

Mine is seeping in the same spots in both heads. I pulled all the accessories and checked/redid the thermostat gasket. Of course, mine hasn't ever had the head gaskets done. I've traced the leak location to the rectangular shaped coolant passage. Doesn't help much in your situation though.

Did you use a bottom tap before doing the bolts/ studs? It could have gunk in it and not clamping properly on the front of the head.

The pic is the opposite side of the block, but mine is seeping from the same on both sides. I'd check the two bolts/studs especially around the passage.

Did you check the heads for warpage?
