recently bought a 23' van based RV.
quickly found out that it wont tow 10,000 pounds..
im also building a rock crawler to accompany my ranchero on offroad excursions.
so the need for something big has evidently been in my future.
i found something i fell in love with. and the pieces are just falling together.
the Rig.
1962 B700 short short bus, a rig the Wife and I gave the name, "The Drool Bus"
yes it was a whiskey induced conversation and aligned with the shortness of the bus, it fit perfectly.
the Drivetrain.
1992 DTA466
Allison MT643
yesterday, the employees and I dropped the engine in the bus.
today i worked a deal for a 89 IH 4100 flatbed truck, running. that all he wants for the truck is the DT466 removed.
so i will be swapping the bus and the flatbed on to the newer frame.
the 61 is almost done, and i need a RV that can tow 2 vehicles and be fully sufficient.
like i needed ANOTHER project, right??
i wont be happy until all my rigs are completely built by me.
its a curse.
