Hi there,

I have a 1992 idi that is about junk now and I am in the process of parting with. I am debating selling it for pennies or salvaging parts and scrapping/parting the rest out.

My question is: What would be worth keeping off of the idi that would be compatible with my 96 PSD?

Cheers!

There's not very many parts that interchange between the IDI 7.3 and the PSD 7.3. They are two very different engines. If you are going to scrap the engine, at least keep the IP and injectors. Before you decide to junk the engine, see if someone would like to buy it first.

Depending on the model IP and Injectors... CDD will buy the cores.

Is the block junk? If the block and or heads are rebuildable there is likely someone that would take it off your hands.

Edit: Just noticed CDD buys cores for "Store Credit"... not sure if that would help you if you don't have any other IDIs that you would buy parts for.

the oil cooler bundle is the same on both engines, you could always rebuild it and have a spare
