Went to Wally World and saw this gem! Then thought why did I not come up with the "4th wheel travel trailer". (Note the dually axle trailer, ingenious!) I guess this guy was thinking outside the box when he came up with this!

Think of all the upsides?????

1) Put the mother in law in her own apartment out back!
2) Put the mother in law in her own bed style camper while you sleep in yours!
3) No need to load, unload, and woops scratch your truck, just hook up and go!
4) Have a spare in case something brakes in your camper!
5) Home by 5pm on Friday and out of there by 5:10pm for a long weekend of campering!

I've seen it done although not with a dually trailer. I had a guy tell me that I should put mine in my pickup bed trailer. I refused.

How about put a pass-through differential on the truck and another drive shaft to the trailer axle!

Wired up the Passenger side tail lights for the logging bed. What do ya all think about these wiring connectors? Trying to wire this in as clean and weather proof as possible. This is adhesive lined heat shrink tubing, seals the connection water tight. The pinned connectors are sealed with silicon grommets.

Your shrinkwrap looks good. Maybe a little short, but I prefer mine longer then what most will use. You likely won't have an issue with the splice, considering every one of those 3 prong lights that I've seen have corrosion issues within a year.

We've switched to installing 3/4" led clearance lights with shrink wrap butt connectors. I've got no complaints as they've lasted 3+ years so far. I don't see the need for connectors on them, as we're not removing and installing them frequently.

Couple shots of the electrical work. Almost done with the driver side, then having the panels laser cut for the holes and welded in after.

Yeah this bed actually had 2.5" 2 prong lights all around it and theyve stayed in good shape over the past 20 or so years. They were Truck Lite brand, supposedly still made in the US. Ive gradually cracked the lenses over the years and now im changing the design. Hopefully these LED versions hold up as well.

I guess thats why they have the connectors but if they were hardwired in and then I could add these grommet sealed connectors for the harness, I would prefer that.

Normally I would cut longer heat shrink if not for these adhesive lined sleeves that are precut to length. They harden up nicely and seal better than doing the longer, thinner dry sleeve kind. I have decades old connections with them that look filthy and crusty on the outside but the copper is still clean on the inside.

Well I started today out by fixing the marker lights on the camper. I had one LED one and one of the existing lights was missing a lens, so I put the new LED in the middle. It didn't come with a gasket though odd, so I made one from some silicone gasket material.

Then I got a semi frantic phone call from my Brother in law. I dropped what I was doing, switched trailers, went to my buddy's shop and borrowed a battery, then drove 2hrs because this happened.

The tow company dropped the bill from $400 to $250 because he felt bad.... For a 1.3 mile tow!!!! I can't imagine what the long haul home would have been!

I tried something and got lucky. I seated the ball joint and cv shaft and it held together long enough to put the wheel back on and winch onto the trailer.

I pulled the wheel back off and blocked the control arm. I'd hate to have it kick off again going down the road! Now it's homeward bound. I get the feeling I'm probably doing a ball joint and CV shaft tomorrow LOL

Yesterday I changed the valve cover gasket in the old '89....Sweet mother of Mary! that was not easy!! Took everything off on the passenger side ie. alternator and vacuum pump; had a the dickens of hard time removing the valve cover. But I got it done and while Im still chasing oil leaks, this is one I dont worry about any more.... After looking under the truck I believe my rear main may be leaking: I aint doing that one!

Me and the homie took our jet skis out. It was fairly Smokey because of the fires up north (California) but still made for a fun trip. The truck is doing great, I’ve put a crap ton of miles on it

Reading lots about oil leaks and trying to decipher where mines coming from.
Got it narrowed to
-front seal
-lift pump
-timing cover
-oil pan (narrowed? Lol)

And the dang radio stopped working 2 weeks ago but I been seeing some nice bucks around..so I'm sharp for it.

My injection pump gear cover had what I thought was a small leak and ever since I fixed it I realized that it actually lost a lot of oil out of there. A lot more than I initially thought
