Air controls wouldn't fully swing right to left. I figured it was a wire issue. It was a vermin issue. Prior to me having the truck critters had built a network in the vent system. So much so they packed the swing door shut.. no wonder the ol bitty was overheating. This has in turn created a reason to remove the dash. No I haven't done it before [emoji51]. I have the dash out. Now I am scratching my head on how to remove the heater core housing. Is it bolted from the engine side of the firewall? Going to keep looking this evening just thought one of you lads may know. Feeling like I'm in the deep end of the pool at this point smh. Engine out, tranny out, interior out. Atleast it has zero rust. Thanks in advance.

I f&%$(#*&%ing hate mice. Very cool second pic though! I was going to guess a 92 - 94 year but then saw your turn signal lever.
I have done a heater core before but definitely don't remember removing the whole dash.;) I think it is removed from the inside. BTW, any F150 forum will have lots of info for your cab.

Thank you! It's an 87 crew cab. I'm just feeling grateful I opened er up. Would have been a fire 100%. Those idiots packed the front and rear of the core.

This is only on my Bull Nose trucks. Unhook the heater hoses, remove the glove box, remove the cover behind the glove box (about 8 screws), and then pull the heater core out from the inside. It's about a 30 minute job if you start the coolant draining, and do the inside work. By the time that you're at the heater core, the coolant's drained enough the remove the heater hoses. I suppose I'll be getting my time in on Brick Nose heater cores later this summer with my 1987.

Thanks guys lol it's unbelievable the amount I had to pull. I'm not just pulling the heater core however I am wanting to pull the entire vent system for a proper cleaning. These guys carried insulation from the ceiling into the vents and packed them out. I had gotten what I can get. Next up is a bath for these parts. (Once I can get them out)

I've got all of this to look forward to with my 87 CC dually that was sitting in the weeds for over a decade. I can bang on the dash and mouse "goodies" drop out onto the floor.

@5 oclock I can smell that picture.

I hate the smell of rodent ***. I am thinking a dab of Carmex or Vicks under the nose, and a mask over top of it.

You are telling me. I didn't know what the smell was initially. I just thought it was age. Old plastic, and carpet baking in the sun for years. Not knowing I'm just cruising down the rd. Trying to get the air working lol. Fast forward any air that was coming out was damn near nuclear. You live and learn.
