NY my 1994 E350 ambulance was $274.50 which I believe is good for two years..
then another $40 for the annual vehicle inspection..
BUT since it is over 25 years old, no need to have emission tested.

Wow... You must be in the city then? Or one of the heavily taxed suburbs?

At least CA uses the weight on the pink slip, not the actual vehicle weight. My truck weighs 7400 pounds, but the title says 5080... just enough to get it up in to that higher bracket and add an extra $160 to the bill.

My F250's weight is listed as something like 2800lbs on my Arkansas registration, as I recall.

My 94 Super duty was 740$ to register at 12,500lbs. 12,501 and up it has to be registered commercial and would cost about 180$ per year. 740$ included sales tax on some arbitrary value but registration came in over half that. Good for 3 years, no emissions, no inspection.

They listed the unloaded weight of my 12ft F-SuperDuty as 4,000lbso_O

Mine are about 72 a year. NJ got rid of all personal safety inspections and 1996 and older diesel are emissions exempt. Woohoo!

Commercial here is so strict now that even though insure my truck through my business as business and personal, I keep it registered personal.

Cops have been targeting commercial plates for being used personal.

2 years ago they were nailing people coming out of the campground towing their campers with commercial vehicles!!

Man I'm glad I live in Texas to register a vehicle. Last time I bought a truck I had it registered, inspected, and combat veteran tags. Costed me a whopping 85 bucks. And that's also with the title swap to my name. Past 4 years on that truck, 50 bucks a year for registration and inspection.

Thats everywhere as far as i know, paid the same on long island when i lived there, and up north

Mine isn't even close to that. Safety inspection is $10 and I just renewed mine for $148.50
It's registered for 10,000#

Granted that doesn't include the $75 for plates and title since it was a renewal.

I'm between Syracuse and Rochester.

Most of those are all such low registration fees.......... California has decided my truck is heavy and commercial, so I get around $210 in registration and then another $80 “weight” fee. I know a couple other guys here in California have it even worse too

Yeah like me. Just paid mine last month, $350 :kick::fan:

I was curious so I looked at how they broke it down. $119 for registration, $18 license fee, $204 Weight fee and $9 for county fees. guess they think my truck is a heavy pig.

~$270 in CA, but no safety inspections or smog, $440/yr insurance so all in all not too bad relative to cost of living and wages where I live.
