Hey all. I have a 95 d350 with 225,000. The last week I've been having issues with it running properly. At first it would stutter and die like it ran out of fuel but Only in the morning. I would crank it fit a minute or two and it would finally spit and fire like it indeed had run out of fuel. That was that. Now it's getting progressively worse everyday Sc's I'm now having a hesitation and a miss for lack of a better word upon accelerating. It's still acting like it's our if fuel cut it's not.

I have Efuel and just changed both filters thinking tyst was the issue. No.

I swapped in a new SD pump. No.

I checked fuel pressure while it was stuttering and no less than 55-60 fuel pressure the whole Time.

Is this my ipr? Idm? Ideas?????

Also when I was just taking off from stop and I had next to no power. I didn't know if I'd get across the lanes of traffic then BOOM, all the power I needed. Weird.

Well... I was right, it was oil related, low oil related. I was a gallon low in oil. Just thought to check it again at the gas station. Now she's running like a top.

I hope my stupidity can at least help someone later lol.

Does it burn that much oil or is it leaking past o rings. Is your filter black from oil?

Yeah I'd love to live closer but it is what it is for now.
And my oil is hardly even black even though I have 5000 on the oil. I still see the amber color.

Are you using diesel specific oil motor oil like Delo or Rotella? Regardless of color, if you have any foaming in the oil, it will inhibit the hydraulic injectors on a 7.3 PSD from working properly.

keep an eye on the oil level. It's going somewhere. If not a leak it's probably burning it in the fuel.

i had two injectors that lost the oil o ring in my e99. sent 4 qts of oil into my fuel system on a 5 hr drive pulling a fifthwheel. went to restart and it cranked longer than normal as in twice as long. 4 qts is a lot of oil loss as stated above, it's going somewhere and needs to be found before it gets worse.
