My truck is lacking as far as speakers go. It’s got 2 5x1/4’s in the doors and that’s it. I really want to find a spot for 6x9’s
Mine has the same 5 1/4" in the doors. I made some crappy looking plywood speaker boxes to mount my 6x9's in and slid them under the front of the back seat. The looks of the boxes isn't very important since they are pretty well hidden. I just threw them together in under an hour. They are just to hold the speakers anyway.

@IDIBRONCO next time i go to the junkyard i will have to look at 92-97 single cab trucks. i think those have a 5x7 or a 6x9 box that goes in the cab corner. if i can find one that has exerything but the speakers i will get it.

my truck has kicker door speakers that the previous owner installed and it used to have a sony headunit that crapped out so i replaced it with a better sony head unit. i have a box for a behind the seat subwoofer, it is very nicely made. but the only problem with it is that it is made for a shallow 12 inch sub woofer and those are more expensive and hard to find

You all got me thinking, may be a bad thing but here we go. Did a quick digging on speaker, Im not interested in db this round so would go for spl and this is what I come up with. So instead of going bigger than 2000rms that was the last system, I would go for better sound quality this time.

I would make a box that would be the back seat and have 2 or 4 of these set up for bass

Then have these in a box in the doors to replace the factory ones for the mid range

Then have these in the rear pillers to replace the factory ones for the highs

My radio doesn't even work in both my trucks, so I guess I know where I stand on this subject. Lol
My trucks are very loud when cruising since I don't have overdrive in either, so I figure what's the difference, I can't hear it anyway!
I do plan on sound deadening the cab in the near future on my f250 so I can hold a conversation without hollering at my passenger/s , causing them to think I am an angry lunatic. Lol

I hauled a haunted Mercedes c300 about 40 miles to it’s owner’s house in an 26’ enclosed trailer. Not huge weight, but I was pretty happy with how the truck did. I didn’t have any interstate with it, but was up around 65 a few times. Hadn’t pulled anything heavier with it than a 5-6k lb generator until today.

With regards to sound deadening we had some snow a week or so ago. I was amazed at how much of a difference was made by an inch of frozen snow on the hood and roof. Adding some proper sound deadening is definitely on my list.

Installing a powerful sound system would down out the engine! I find the sound calms the nerves. Hell, the only place I can get any decent sleep is behind the wheel. This truck knows its way around the south Cariboo pretty well and only once have I woken up in the RCMP parking lot.

Ordered window weather strip kits in, this winter weather ended up cracking and breaking off a fat chunk on my driver side so now when I’m driving all I hear is a loud whistle from air blowing in. It was driving me nuts so I bought the kit off LMC. Looking forward to the installation, hoping it goes smooth!

I don’t know if any of you have sound systems in your trucks or not. I don’t consider mine a big system or anything. When I first got subwoofers I had a giant box with 2 12’s because it was free. Then I went to a little box with a 10. That was nice but I liked the 12 better. So I built this sealed box that fits perfectly behind the drivers seat for a 12. I’m really happy with it because the interior looks all organized and well out together now.

I put a couple 6x9”s under the back seat. The open space in the center is possibly for a sub and amp but honestly, I don’t need as much bass as I used to. LOL

I put the ol girl in 4x4 AND I TORE UP SOME SNOW, BABY!

I lOVE snow driving, and everyone in my life thinks I'm a total nut case but I really can't help it. It's WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!! :D:D:D

Why I haven't gotten to go sooner:
We got our first real snow overnight Friday, but my wife is a nurse and worked all weekend. She is gone for about 14.5 hours a day, and didn't feel real safe to drive back and forth so she stayed over at the hospital Saturday night.
So what, right? Well we have 3 kiddos ages 6, 3, and 10 months old and I'm not putting them into my pickup when I'm going 40mph sideways im 2nd gear roaring against the governor whilst tickling the berm with my rear bumper. The memories are so fresh and so good! Ah!
:peelout:peelout:peelout

I was really happy with the way my ebay LT285/75R-16 M/S tires performed. No way I could have done half of what I did with regular A/Ts.
Unfortunately one of them is out of round so they are going to become winter/play tires, I can't really recommend them.

Yea snow can be fun but it dose not really phase the f250s 35s with weight in the bed, then again have not tryed to hard. The bmw on the other is playful to begin with and last season on snow tires was more like you described.

I finished getting the Turbo Kit installed a week ago, but haven't had a chance to drive the truck in the daylight. Had to go into work Saturday morning, so took the long way and wrung the truck out good to make sure everything was right and tight. It was a nice winter morning (6 deg. F, give or take and thick horror frost), but I forgot to put the bra on, and the coolant temp never got off the "C", even after 70 miles.

It's been a fun day.
Ambo motor is getting turboed.
When it was NA it had the two rear exhaust studs snapped off in its hot rear cylinder.
Going turbo don't want leaks.

Drilled out bolt 1 - ez out snaps off in bolt
Drilled out bolt 2 larger - larger easy out snaps off in bolt

Now since ez outs are harder than mild steel had to buy new masonry bits.

Figure I'll drill out just the rear bolt and set that one up to clamp down and skip the bolt in between.

Drill it out to 1/2..notice the head is very brittle and powdery.

Don't want to go larger for m14 insert I have.

Decide to weld a 3/8 stud into the hole.
Head crumbles to dust once I smack the rod with a hammer to get it straight.

More to come..
