So I'm getting to the tail end of my idi build and I'm installing the injection pump and I split the nut on the #2 injector. I have another on my parts truck but just my luck it's one of the lines attached to the bottom of the pump. The first time I installed the pump I tore the ring but I had another and reinstalled the pump and then this happens. Is there any way I can remove the line without removing the pump and having to go through installing it for the third time.

I made a special wrench to get at any line I need to, but before that I would take off all the lines with normal end wrenches. Just have to start at the top and work one at a time and remove them. Which means taking off the line dampeners too.

It takes a lot of small adjustments and angles and creativity but that's how I would do it. I've heard stubby wrenches make it easier but I don't have any.
You might be able to use a crows foot style wrench too but again I've never tried.

I used a flare-nut crows-foot to replace some of the lines on mine without removing the IP. They are a very useful tool to have with these trucks, since they grip better than a standard crows-foot.

I picked up an impact socket from Tractor Supply a couple years ago to see if I could modify it.
That`s as far as I got.

I don`t know what the length of the OEM Socket is.
Mine is 3 1/4" long.

Here are some part#`s.

I did the same thing a while back. I got mine off by taking the lines off one at a time with a regular open end wrench. Once I got towards the bottom it was a pain and one flat at a time but can be done. Honestly I’ve pulled the pump since then and if I had to do it again I’d just pull the pump it’s really not to difficult to pull the pump with small wrenches. The only pain is the replacement line I bought hits the intake manifold so that has to be pulled to but I still feel that’s easier then one flat at a time it cost me a ton of time.
