Not really IDI related but a lot of work on the truck is made possible by the mini split I put in a few months ago!

the reverse cycle heat is adequate for this time of year. I need to insulate the garage door and I think it will do much better. Does really well cooling. About 1k installed DIY

Off topic, but how do you like the US General tool box? Does the quality seem to be alright? I've been thinking about buying a US General bottom chest to keep all of my odds and ends tools in. I have a Mac Tech 1000 that's about the same size as your Husky with a small side cabinet on it. Those are both pretty full so I've been thinking about another bottom cabinet. I like the option to roll it around and it also comes in handy to sit tools on while you're working on your truck so a top chest is off the table for me. I also hid my Mac tool box and it doesn't come back out easily. This is a work bench that I made just to roll the tool box under.

The US General toolbox really is good. I think harbor freight sells them for roughly $200. Had it over a year, no issues. The Husky toolboxes... as you can see I liked them so much I bought two. On sale for $350 each from Home Depot. One is filled with tools, the other with ammo reloading stuff.

Nice! For some reason I didn't think about using one of those for heat but that's a good setup.

I also have a US General cart like that in red, and it's great. Solid, ball bearing locking drawers, with big, well made casters. Thicker steel than you would ever think was on a $200 cart like that. Just wait for a parking lot sale, they have them every quarter or better. Then it's like 20 or 30% off.

This is the one I have. Connections pre-flared... ran some conduit and a disconnect box from my panel. Connected, vacuumed down, then released the charge from the compressor.

My garage is around 480sf. I do wish I had gone with the 24,000 BTU unit, just to recover quicker when the garage door is opened momentarily on a very hot or cold day. If the door stays closed it does a good job heating or cooling from 35F to 100F outside. However, my garage door is totally uninsulated so I think it will improve substantially when I tackle that project.

$350 sounds like a pretty good price for those Huskies. I will have to look into them.

That's about the size I was looking for. It's a much better price than the Harbor Freight ones.

I just picked a Husky one up. Saw some bad reviews on it regarding the stickers not coming off and the wheels being trash but I did not have that experience. The stickers were a different style and the wheels are stout. The drawers are the quiet close to prevent slamming and it has a nice power strip with usb ports on the side. Only downside is the thing weighs 220 lbs and is big.

A few guys at our old shop had the us general ones and they were nice too. But for the size, the Husky has them beat.

Santa brought me one for Christmas. I’m pretty impressed with the quality of it for $350. I went in thinking there was no way I’d ever use the power strip on the side. It was just some marketing gimmick, and a waste. In reality, I really like having it there. I can keep my chargers for my cordless tools in the bottom right hand drawer, and I was able to fish the cords up the inside, and plug them into the strip.

We have one of the Harbor Freight (Yukon) box like the black one that renjamin has. I thought it was actually the HF box until I zoomed in on the picture. We like it, and it's holding up well.... but it's not being used the intended way..... it is actually in our kitchen being used as an island. It works really well for that. Same price as a flimsy "microwave cart"..... and will last a lot longer. This actually replaced a flimsy microwave cart.

My wife had the same plan. She even wanted me to make a thick butcher block top for it too. Also wanted one for a gardening cart. Guess we'll be loaded up with these carts one day

I think i'm buying another one for a fishing tackle station, so i'll have three!

A solid workbench alone is $250... for just a bench, why not pay an extra $100 and get a power strip and tool storage.
