1993 7.3 IDI turbo. When I replaced the vacuum pump because of low brakes, squeaking started. So far I've installed two different new vacuum pumps, cleaned/regreased both idler pulleys, installed two new idler pulleys, greased the idler pully spring arm. Still this dang noise. By the way, brake issue fixed with new vacuum booster. How do I attach a video? What's the video size limit?

Get some belt dressing, or something similar, and put on belt back. If squeak stops, it is belt. If not, pull belt and slowly turn each idler pulley by hand. Should be no resistance turning the pulley.
Bad VP would have been masking the noise earlier.

RIPHIP:
Thanks for suggestion. I may give belt dressing a try. Both idler pulleys are brand new and serpentine is maybe 3k miles old.

IDIoit:
I wondered about that spring arm being the culprit. Seems like it's movements are in sync with squeaking. I'll research updated tensioner and power steering bracket. That's a recently installed power steering pump, and can't get that upper fitting to seal/stop leaking.
Thanks for help guys.

ANY new idlers I replace now, I pull a bearing cover seal and pack with anti-friction grease or equivalent and replace seal. Most have minimal grease in them from all the manufacturers it seems. Has made a difference for me.

My belt has been squeaking for years, just like this, and I spray silicon lubricant on it and it goes away for days. I just got concerned today that maybe my VP was bad too, so I found this thread. lol, guess it's time for a new belt. It's at least 10 years old.
Gotta check tomorrow which tensioner I have. Too dark and cold to go back out tonight.
