guys I would like some good options of building my engine, I'm wanting more power but don't want to go stupid crazy, I use this truck as a daily and as my work truck so I haul (pull a gooseneck) up too 20K payload. I want too intercool, do injectors but looking at keeping stock turbo with bellowed up pipes, do the hpop. was thinking about a set of baby swamps with the adrenaline hpop, the cross over high pressure oil lines. I have already done the e-fuel set up. going to do the rsk kit for the front axle and also converting him into a dually. Not sure what computer program to use in the ecm after I get a new one and new idm.

Thanks in advance
David

I think your recipe sounds pretty good. You could always go with the stock Excursion/99-03 components in regards to injectors & intercooler, that pump should work well with it. Everybody really seems to like the Hydra Chip as you get limitless tunes for one price. I think the toughest part is whether or not you want to stay with the stock turbo, but if you locked into that, I think it's pretty easy to get 300ish HP and super reliability.

I just went through my PSD and resealed/rehosed the fuel bowl and replaced the fuel pump trying to get rid of some leaks. If I had it to do all over again, I'd have went efuel. I don't mind mechanical pumps, but the location and serviceability of the pump and fuel bowl leave a lot to be desired. Good for you for being smarter than me for upgrading to efuel!

You'll be limited with the OBS tuning unless you get a custom tune to what mods you decide to do.

IMO I would do gauges (boost/EGT/trans) first, then add a 4" cat back exhaust (diamond eye w or w/o muffler) and a hydra chip with the tuning of your choice (totaldieselperformance).

After doing this I would see how the truck performs before getting crazy with high dollar mods.

The T444E was used in applications exceeding 60,000 lbs GVWR

By the way: who’s Efuel did you go with?
sorry took so long too get back with you...
built my own::: used a Bosch pump, 6.9L filter head (it uses a finer filter then the powerstroke) and a FAAS pressure regulator with custom bent steel line. still working out some kinks:: mainly fuel leaks < LOL

to give an update:::
here's what I've gotten so far.. intercooler setup off an early 1999 F250 (waiting on mounting brackets and other hardware from CP Addicts) a set of baby swamps with very low milage from a trusted source.. sadly weather has turned nasty and my shop is too cold too work lol

Look at KC Turbo's S300 balanced assembly for your stock turbo and also their smaller A/R exhaust housing. The S300 balanced assembly comes with a rebuild kit and it makes the stock compressor perform about the best it can deliver. At a minimum get the smaller exhaust housing if you're going to be adding a tuner and intercooler. It really helps get the air moving to burn the extra fuel. Is your truck an automatic? If so, get the 6.0 trans cooler and lines added in as well to help that poor E4OD dissipate all the extra heat generated with the new power.

thought I'd give an update on the Knight's progress.
while checking glow plugs we found #2 injector unplugged so we fixed that, put new high pressure oil lines from the pump to the heads on and added the steel crossover line. I've started putting the Early 99 Superduty intercooler on and wow wasn't prepared for all that fun. LOL I did wind up not having everything I needed so have spent quite a bit of time running after stuff but can't find the v clamp to fasten the spider too the turbo.

On a different note I am wandering if I can't use a core support for a gas engine as around central Indiana a decent diesel core is harder to find than a need in the hay stack.
I know the gas is shorter but if you cut the center (between the frame rails) off the gas job could it be used for the diesel as it doesn't support the bottom of the radiator??

update to the up date
had to go to FORD to get the clamp but it worked.. so I finished installing the air cooler and he's running a lot cooler and smoother now.
tank selecting valve decided to go south on me and start sucking fuel from the front tank and return to the rear tank. Pulled the valve and front tank (found a leak in the tank), just have the rear plumbed in and it still pumped out the air vent (about time for dynamite LOL)
I'm currently looking for another bed and thinking of doing the 38 gallon rear tank and doing away with my heavy hitch.
