I found a penntex alternator and 2 regulators for it a long time ago in the yard. This is a 208 amp alternator that I would like to use but unsure if plausible.

the issue steems from how fat this thing is, it wants to hug the thermostat housing. If I add a few washer under it, there might be a possibility to get the bots in but there would be no way to get the hose on

Thorugh some digging I have done over the years, found a IH s1600 has a different thermostat housing. Would anyone have any leds on this, a part number or a different thermostat housing that they have found?

I've got 2. Both are currently on engines, one in the bus, the other on a spare for the bus. Not sure of any part numbers or availability, but I would think you could find an old IH truck or school bus with one in a scrapyard somewhere.

He has the alt. He wants to know if the thermostat neck is different.

You also need to be aware that the radiators on the S series trucks are different than in the F series so you won't be able to go out and buy an upper radiator hose for it.

Are you refering to the thermostat housing and if willing to get rid of the spare pm me?

Could come up with some shanagines with flex hose using 2, one 1-3/4 to 2 and another 2 to 2-1/4. Not sure right now on it but is a nice part I have in my hord of parts.

I know, I'm referring to the thermostat neck. It's definitely different between the IH and Ford trucks. It moves back towards the rear and is right next to the #1 injector/above the #1 glow plug.

This is a picture from the spare engine. Thermostat outlet is center, injection pump on the left, and an ac compressor is the black thing at the top.

I'd rather not right now, the plan is to rebuild this engine, turbo it, and make it all fancy and then install it in the bus. Maybe after I pull the old 6.9 out I can part that one out.

Personally I would ditch that dinosaur of an alt and go with an internally regulated one, that thing uses expensive regulators, requires a relay to run and its non weather proof connector is going to give you issues at some point in the future.

What about a PURE ENERGY 15175 reman version of the one, is that a good brand at $175. Cost wise that mitsubishi dose look like a better option than the penntex I have and would be less of a wiring mess as well. Do you you know if that one would fit any better?

Im in no hurry to get a better alternator on over a 3g at the moment, so can wait to see how thins pan out. More trying to plan out this so am not rushing through this.

I'd say it would. On your trucks, it has a gentle curve up and back.

This thing is entirely different and nearly makes the #1 glow plug impossible to access.

Here's a pic I took when I replaced the plugs.

The outlet is the rounded cast piece to the left, plug in the middle, lifting bracket on the right. You can see the lifting bracket in the other picture to get an idea.

Reason has come to pass for why past me grabed that penntex alternator. I found a orion 500.4 for cheap at a swap meet, so the door was opened to find the sister 375. I dont like mismatched stuff, so been stocking ebay to find it at a decent cost. So time close to due to get that mitsubishi alternator @ifrythings pointed out.

Im addicted to loud audio and have had systems in the past. This fried 2k rms amp is one example that ran 4 10s on the back deck of a golf. That IB was not good at ether SPL or SQ, but was load enogh to wake the dead.

This round I going for mid bass more so and the 500.4 is the 4 channel amp to give me that at 60 rms a speeker. The front doors will get these 6.5 hifonics components and will decide on the 6.5s to go in the back pillers. That tweeter is trash to me since will sonnd like nails on a chalkboard, will decide on two 2in silk ones to run latter.

I will need some sub bass to fill the spectrum, so plan is a t-line with a single 8in. This is where the 375 fits in to give me 375 rms mono for that sub. This is my thought on doing so and not sure when Im going to get to doing so or getting the sub, it will mimic the folded seat for storage area. For now have a free 12in I use for the time being.

If twin turbos don't do your hearing in, that should. O'Reilly's offers a flux capacitor, really, look it up.

The way I see it is that the turbos should not drown out the radio, but add to it. Lose of hearing just mean things need to loader. Yea I see the listing for it but there is not stock of it.
