Any of you guys on here done this yet? I've got the rear tank out of my truck, I want to put a limited slip in it and it sounds like the factory ford Elocker might be the best way to go in a dually.

Been a while since I set up a ring and pinion, just wondering if there's anything I need to pay attention to.

I never heard of an E-locker. I just googled it. Electric locker for a Ford dually? Sounds like something worth investigating.

Ya never heard of a factory one. There is a factory LS for sure and they were quite common and they did ok if not abused. And lots of aftermarket units for sure. Im installing a Yukon Dura Grip LS at the moment.

I will install some kind of limited-slip or locker on my dually once it's running again. My single axle definitely needs something like that but it will be for sale as soon as the dually runs again. Let me know how you like the Yukon.

2011 and newer Superduty’s have an option for the electric locker. Here’s a link for somebody putting one in a 10.5, just trying to get a little more insight from the 10.25 crowd.

i know there was a short pinion 10.25 early on, but I’m pretty sure that my 1995 should be the long pinion version. I have no idea what I have in store with regards to the tone ring.

I really like the Eaton TrueTrak, but hard to argue with selectable as I think it should wear tires better in day to day driving, and the price is also a consideration.

I've been wrestling with this for a while too. Lurking on some other forums, it seems the factory E-Lockers can be had from some ford dealerships online for relatively cheap prices. But as time goes on, they will only get cheaper from wreckers.

I recently installed a Yukon Dura-Grip LS in a 10.25 axle. The truck hasn't done 1000 miles yet but so far I am pretty impressed with the performance of it.
Zero noticeable noise or chatter when its engaging or disengaging and it has locked up every time that I needed it to both with a load on and empty, forward and reverse.

I usually run 75-140 syn in most diffs including 10.25's but a Yukon rep advised me to run conventional GL-5, 80-90 with 2 bottles of LS additive. I did use Yukon LS additive.

So if this things stands the test of time (regular driving, no intentional abuse) and is trouble free, it will win my vote for an economical LS upgrade.

Give us an update once in a while so we know if it's an option.
