I used the factory power distribution box metal mounting bracket and bolted it to the fender well like they did on the trucks they came factory on.
Vacuum canister got removed and instead I used 2 ford ranger vacuum canisters that look like a large pill and mounted them at the bottom of the core support where the fender line mounts to the core support. Below the headlight on that side

Was there any difference in changing the vacuum canister to the multiple smaller ones?

Nope just packaging size for cleaning up the engine bay.
Cruise control gets surging without the canister
And I needed that space that the canister took up for my fuse box

I've looked at a couple of those factory distribution boxes and they look very swap friendly.
Of course I figured that out after I bought a bunch of blue sea stuff for both my trucks.

Are those canisters only used for cruise control? I deleted my cruise control a while back and doubt I’ll ever put it back
