So I'm burning around a quart every few hundred miles. Runs great just didnt replace the valve stem seals when I 'rebuilt' the motor. Figure that's where the oils going.
Think I can just swap the oil filter out and not drain the oil? Its gonna burn that **** anyways.

You still have to change the oil. It’s not burning the stuff that settles out in the pan. Still change at recommended interval....

With it burning, you aren’t changing the oil.... you are adding to it.....

Haha nice. I'll respond aligning with the tone of your post. I assume you don't want to pull the motor again and fix whatever is wrong.

Whenever you are ready to change your filter just drain it and throw in cheap blend stuff like delo blend 15w40. It's $13 bucks a gallon.

I'm not sure how much you care about the motor or how long you want the truck to last, but what snicklas said is true from the technical side. Once on a scrap quad4 GM car that burned oil I did an expirement and didn't change the oil for 30-40 thousand miles and it never had an issue. Including the filter haha.

If you view your engine any degree above scrap I'd do what I said about the cheap blend on the right intervals.
