I keep seeing that E3CZ-6500-AA is the "same" part number (E3TZ-6500-A) that is in our tech articles, and looking at the range that these lifters are compatible with, I can believe it, but I wanted to make sure?

I'll assume that you're talking about the lifters in our IDI engines. From what I understand they are all interchangable, but the early ones used a bushing for the roller to roll around. The later ones used needle bearings and are a lot more durable. As for the part numbers, google showed me lifters for the one that ends in "A"while it didn't come up with anything useful (to me) with the one that ends in "AA".

Danielle, I'm going to assume you meant 3C3Z-6500-AA which superseded e3tz-6500-a in 2009. Most places still use the e3tz-6500-a part number.

I haven't heard of what @IDIBRONCO mentioned but that would be interesting. Mahl still uses e3tz-6500-a even though it's the earlier p/n and I can't imagine them not using an updated design if it exists.

FordPartsGiant lists the 3C3Z-6500-AA as a Tappet-Valve used on IDI non turbo & DI turbo
E3TZ-6500-A replaced by 3C3Z-6500-AA

if that helps you worry less..

Just fyi if you are going with oem lifters they are cheaper to buy them for a 6.0 that comes in a set of 4 than to buy them individually.
